Happy BLADE RUNNER Day! On this day 40 years ago, Ridley Scott’s sci-fi masterpiece starring Harrison Ford, Rutger Hauer, Sean Young, and Daryl Hannah was released to cinemas, based on Philip K. Dick’s novel Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? The dark, cerebral neo-noir, while hailed by critics, promptly flopped with audiences, but over the years set the standard for slow-burn cult hits and the “Director’s Cut” phenomenon thanks to multiple re-cuts and re-releases over the years.

When my editing class assigned a movie trailer for our final, I knew exactly which title to snatch up. And there was no way I was gonna use anything other than the original score by Vangelis (RIP) for the music.
